Yasuhide Nakamura, MD, Ph.D President, Japan Association for International Health (JAIH) Professor of Konan Women's University and Professor Emeritus of Osaka University.
Japan Association for International Health (JAIH) was established in 1986 to provide a communicating network among researchers and field workers concerned to global health. JAIH is a multidisciplinary organization with physicians, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, therapists, and public health specialists. The number of members of JAIH is about 1,100. Their backgrounds are very diverse; universities, hospitals, research centers, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), NGO/NPO and students. JAIH has many activities to promote academic researches on global health, strengthen the network of global health professionals and encourage the civil society and students for the further development of global health; annual conference, Journal of International Health in Japanese and English, textbook for global health in Japanese and the collaboration with students association and NGO/NPOs.
